My son is Famous!

If you are taking the MRT during the moth of February, keep a lookout for the latest “Jewel Box” advertisement on the NEL line.

NEL train

Jewel Box is Singapore’s iconic destination for visitors to Mt Faber. Last year, the family went on a complimentary ride on the Cable Car to Sentosa, and this resulted in a special surprise for our Nathan!

His photo has been used for their latest advertisement campaign on the MRT (Can be seen only on trains on the North-East Line).

I knew that they were going to use the photo, but I thought that my chances of catching the ad were a bit slim.

Can u imagine my surprise, when I was caught the advertisement, the moment I entered the train. I immediately took out my camera and started taking pictures….people must have thought that I was a tourist! :)

Anyway, I am looking forward to bring Nathan on the NEL train soon. Imagine his surprise, when he sees his photos plastered on the MRT cabin :)

Nathan’s Birthday Party

The month of February is a very exciting month for the Tay Kids! Not only is it CNY season, but more importantly; it is Nathan’s Birthday! :)

Naturally, he was very excited about celebrating his Birthday in School. And from the creative heights of the “Milo Party” for Nicole, we struggled with a theme for Nathan’s Birthday.

However, since he loves car and trains so much, we settled on the theme of “Cars” for his birthday! :)

nathan's birthday

Yes…that’s him at the party! An essential decoration for the party was the Party Hat! (As requested by Nathan). Everybody had to have one…even Nicole and Nadine!

Another request for the party was GAMES! In response to that request, we got some of our friends to come along and help.

Many thanks to Joycelyn and Seow Shi for helping us at the party! :)

The kids were really well-behaved, and their favourite game was just running around and “freezing” when the music stopped! :)

Clearly, Nathan loves the game too!

The kids were also so happy, when they each got their “door gift” for coming to the party!

The kids also loved their sandwiches and cakes from Pat’s Pastry.

No party would be complete without the Birthday cake!

Every year, we get Pat’s Pastry to design the background, and we put the kid’s favourite toy on the cake. This makes considerable cost savings as compared to have a $200 3D cake! :)

Nathan really loved his cake :)

and so did all his friends!

Many thanks to everyone for making the party possible…Especially to all our friends and teachers like Miss Mayce, Miss Jessica, Jiang Lao Shi! :)

Kids & Fashion

There’s a new blogshop in town! And I so adooooore it! :)

I’ve been introduced to online shopping and my-o-my, the options are e.n.d.l.e.s.s.!!

shopping

I’ve been stuck though… I’m at the “going to be slim again” size. What does this mean?

Size 12 – Comfy BUT what a waste of $$! Cos it’d be too loose next week! Really.

Size 10 – Comfy if I keep my shoulders back, tummy tucked and butt out at all times. And darling, I prefer to stand, no sitting when I’m in this outfit!

Size 8 – Ohhh you know, that’s my original size? You see my wedding pics? Might even be size 6!

So you see, shopping online for me is a little battlefield of the mind. I’ve tried telling myself NO ONE can see the size label when I wear those clothes, but until then …

Back to this new blogshop. It’s for kids! I don’t have to go thru this sizing debate cos the pieces are either nicely fitting (so wear them every other day) or loose (so we wait till they grow into them).

I do shop online for my kids. I always find trendy American, kawaii Japanese/Korean or comfy Chinese outfits. These are always easily available. But it has reached a point of being saturation. I’ve seen too many kids decked in Guess, Carter’s, Jshoppers etc.

In this new blogshop, I found absolutely CLASSY European pieces online! Think French—Kenzo, DPAM, Okaidi, Chloe, Sisley, Spanish—Massimo Dutti, Zara, Italian—Benetton, English—Pepe Jeans!

And of course, I think this is a cool blogshop because they use really nice models! Check it out!

Goodnight Baby

Mummy blogs…

It’s bedtime. I told the stories, hugged them, said good nights, and gave the thousand kisses.

goodnight

*Lights off*

Just as I was about to turn and leave the room, Nicole started sobbing. Real sobbing.

“Mummy, I want you to sleep with us… I’m scared”

My goodness… where did that come from?

“It’s ok. Mummy loves you…close your eyes…” *hugs &kisses*

Sobbing continues…

Then we heard a little voice in the dark, it was Nathan.

“Mummy, why is che che (sister) crying?”

That was when I had a brilliant idea.

“Che Che (sister)  is scared. Can you hold her hand & tell her it’s ok?”

So they held hands. Sobbing subsided. I left the room.

About an hour later, I came into the room to check on them.

What is he up to?

We were having dinner at KFC the other day, and suddenly Nathan got up and started hanging out at the wall.

What do you think Nathan is doing?!?

That’s right…That’s him…like a little boy that is being punished and holding on to the railings for his dear life…

Well if you guessed that he was………..

It seems that Nathan likes to go to a corner, or face a wall, when he is doing his little essentials in life.

It also seems like a real painful event…with sound effects, and eyes becoming watery…I don’t think I need to describe any further, as all of us should be familiar with the process!

Do your kids have any other interesting positions?!?
