Yesterday was a significant milestone for the whole family.
Usually when we go out, only Nicole and Nathan come along with us. But yesterday, our domestic helper was on leave, so all 3 kids went out with us.
That is the whole complete family!
Nadine was so well-behaved that bringing the 3 of them out was no problem at all!
Here’s a picture of the whole family after our day-long adventure.

It was a day of great victory for the Tay family, and we felt like very successful parents. (I am sorry, give us a few moment to bask in our glory
Haha)
Just to keep everyone updated, Nadine was also recently dedicated in church.
There were really a lot of babies dedicated, and we are so glad to be part of it.
Here are some photos:

Nadine is now 7.5 months old and she can sit up unsupported and has started crawling. She is a very easy baby to take care of, and she is a favourite in the church nursery!
Ok! Gotta go… we’re going to the zoo today!

It has really been a tiring week for all of us…
But we believe that Revival involves Sacrifice!
Since we started on our Morning Prayer from Mon to Fri from 6 to 7am, it has really been fruitful!
Today is Day 8, and the hall is still packed! We have the same situation over in Jurong West. PTL!
I am really proud and encouraged by our members, who have been coming in their school uniforms and ‘Shenton Way’ Business Attire. Today, I even saw a father bringing his 2 kids to the prayer meeting.
God has also been giving me new strategies and ideas for the ministry. It has been stretching, as we carry them out…but we believe that with Prayer, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!
The members who have been coming for more than 5 days, also got their "Starbucks’ vou
chers today. So proud of them!
More of us need to come!

Last weekend, it was great to have Ps. back from the Europe Conference and he preached a sermon about Servanthood.
This is one of the main themes for CHC in 2008, and all of us are looking to grow in this area in the coming months.
The theme also tied in nicely with our early morning prayer. For these 2 weeks, the church is waking up early to pray from 7am – 8am at Jurong West and at Heart of God church in Paya Lebar.
Today is day 3 and I am tired….
I was telling my mass class that to be at Paya Lebar at 7am, I have to wake up at 6am. – I have not woken up at 6am since Secondary School – talk about crucifying my flesh.
But the prayer meetings have been good!!!
And I am looking forward to the next one tomorrow, as I know that keeping myself disciplined is one of the keys to success!
Furthermore, according to the Sermon on Sunday:
- Servanthood is Willing (Serving is an issue of the heart where surrender is needed)
- Servanthood excels
- Servanthood is swift
- Servanthood is never convenient
- Servanthood is honoring
- Servanthood is work
- Servanthood is caring for people (Hey! Even Barak Obama practices this) .
INCONVENIENCE (Point 4) is something we are discovering this week!
I am so glad that so many people are coming to the prayer meetings, that we have been having a packed hall in both Paya Lebar and Jurong. (Approximately. 4000 people have been gathering to pray)
Yesterday, we introduced another pray center at Church of Singapore in Marine Parade.
If you are thinking about joining us, come down this week! You won’t be alone and best of all – YOU WON’T REGRET IT!

Last weekend was Father’s Day, and many of us took some time off to honor our dads.
Being Asian, many of us really get tongue tied when it comes to expressing our love to our Dads. It was relatively easier when it came to writing love letters to our mums, but as our Dads are usually more conservative and known to be people of fewer words – expressing our love seemed a even more daunting task.
To help our youths honor our dads, we decided to get them to make personalized trophies to their dads. It was a project where each dad would get a trophy with the words "TO THE BEST DADDY IN THE WORLD", coupled with a personalized inscription for each dad.
Some of the youths really profited big time from the exercise!
- 2 youths got an immediate increase in their allowance
- 1 youth got an increase in allowance and extra money to buy a guitar as well
- 1 youth saw the change in his father’s heart and got him to come to church, on the same weekend.
- 1 youth who got saved for less than 6 months, saw the favor of God upon her life – She immediately plucked up her courage to tell her parents that she was now a Christian, and she even got permission for herself to get water baptized this coming July. PTL!
For myself – I gave my trophy to my dad as well. He smiled and said Thank You!
Not too much of a response – but it was a big breakthrough for a Chinese man in his 70s.
Sometimes, our dads might not say or do much, but we must understand that they come from a more traditional background, and they do not know how to respond to our acts of love.
Just as we have problems saying "I love you" to them, they face the same difficulties expressing the same 3 words to us!
However, that does not change the fact that they are still very important people to us, and how we must always honor them. Things will change, as we keep on expressing our love to them!

As new people come to church, many of them ask the inevitable question, "What is a CG or Cell Group?"
For Camp Phenomena, we decided to tackle this question and produce a video based on our experiences in a CG. Many thanks to Shing: for her sleepless nights working on this project.
We interviewed our youths and basically this is a 4-min presentation on what a CG means to us!
It is a family – Enjoy the video.
