iFly for Kids

Life brings many challenges, and being an overcomer is an important lesson in life.

Recently, Nicole was invited together with her friends to iFly! For those new to iFly,  iFly Singapore is home to the World’s largest wind tunnel for indoor skydiving. Built 5 storeys high, iFly offers one the thrill of skydiving without any of the danger.

This is NOT Nicole’s 1st time at iFly. For a brief synopsis about her first attempt, do click here. She got through iFly quite successfully the first time round, unfortunately her fear of heights got the better of her the 2nd time round, and she spent her time walking on the net.

However, Nicole informed us that she wanted to conquer her fears, and thanks to iFly, we made it back to the wind tunnel. Originally, she looked forward to the day with great excitement…but when we made it to the changing rooms, check out her priceless expression! Smile

Fears

Her fear of heights got the better of her… Smile

Not wanting our little girl to develop a habit of giving up when she faced difficult and scary trials, we embarked on a strategy to help her calm her nerves.

First off, we introduced her to her instructor for the day!

The good thing about iFLY is that they have very friendly instructors. After flying there twice, I have encountered 2 different instructors and they have all been very friendly and professional. Nicole’s instructor did not disappoint us in that area, and here he was explaining to her that the flight was going to be easy, and that he was going to hold on to her really tight! Smile

Trust me, when I say that the little “Pep-talk” really reassured my little princess, as immediately after – she was ALL SMILES and ready to take on the world!

Unfortunately, all her bravery disappeared the moment she entered the tunnel, and when the gigantic fans started blowing…

* Advisory Note for Parents: Do be advised that Nicole tends to be a bit of a drama queen, and she tends to amplify her fears.

But the great thing about Nicole is that she was willing to take on the challenge, despite the fact that the waiting time got the better of her emotions! Smile

And through the reassuring hands of the instructor and his commands..Nicole made it into the wind tunnel! Hurray!!!

My little girl practically clung on to her instructor for her “dear life”! But I am so proud of her actually going into the wind tunnel, and giving iFly her Best Shot!

And finally here she is, showing off her souvenirs from her flight! Smile
