Kids & Fashion

There’s a new blogshop in town! And I so adooooore it! :)

I’ve been introduced to online shopping and my-o-my, the options are e.n.d.l.e.s.s.!!

shopping

I’ve been stuck though… I’m at the “going to be slim again” size. What does this mean?

Size 12 – Comfy BUT what a waste of $$! Cos it’d be too loose next week! Really.

Size 10 – Comfy if I keep my shoulders back, tummy tucked and butt out at all times. And darling, I prefer to stand, no sitting when I’m in this outfit!

Size 8 – Ohhh you know, that’s my original size? You see my wedding pics? Might even be size 6!

So you see, shopping online for me is a little battlefield of the mind. I’ve tried telling myself NO ONE can see the size label when I wear those clothes, but until then …

Back to this new blogshop. It’s for kids! I don’t have to go thru this sizing debate cos the pieces are either nicely fitting (so wear them every other day) or loose (so we wait till they grow into them).

I do shop online for my kids. I always find trendy American, kawaii Japanese/Korean or comfy Chinese outfits. These are always easily available. But it has reached a point of being saturation. I’ve seen too many kids decked in Guess, Carter’s, Jshoppers etc.

In this new blogshop, I found absolutely CLASSY European pieces online! Think French—Kenzo, DPAM, Okaidi, Chloe, Sisley, Spanish—Massimo Dutti, Zara, Italian—Benetton, English—Pepe Jeans!

And of course, I think this is a cool blogshop because they use really nice models! Check it out!

Milo Party (Part 2)

Time has progressed…These days, every child’s party has a goody bag…and our Milo Party was of no exception.

We went down to Nestle in Changi Business Park, and through our kind sponsors, we filled our goody bags full of Milo products!

I have never seen so much green stuff in my life…It was like St. Patrick’s Day :)

And as requested by our Birthday Gal…her party must have games!

We managed to get our trusted friends to come down and help us. They were most willing to oblige and organized some “Milo Games”, according to the theme of the party.

Our First game was: Stand on the Magic Number!

Simple game where the birthday girl would draw out the lucky number, and if you were standing on the Magic Number, you would win a Prize!

We also had traditional Party favorites like Passing the Parcel…the kids loved it, as every time the parcel came to you, you got a prize!

We had a Milo Telematch

And of course we had food…According to my daughter…the Perfect Party must end off with Burgers and Fries from McDonald’s…

And the kids naturally had NO objections!

Nadine was also there, and she was enjoying herself!

Milo Party (Part 1)

Have you heard of a Milo Party?

When one becomes a Parent, Birthday Parties become a whole new ballgame. These days, Children’s Parties are NOT a “Non-Event” as they can come at huge expenses…

Last year, from out of the blue, Nicole came up with the idea of “Traffic Light Party!” The theme was just basically built on her favorite Colors and it was most importantly cheap to organize. This was in stark contrast to her 3rd Birthday Party, which was held at “My Gym” which cost quite a bit!

This year, in order to keep to our budget, we started thinking of a creative theme… And it all started with a Simple Ice Milo at the Coffee Shop downstairs.

As we were sipping our Ice Milo together, we had a New Idea! How about a “MILO Party!”

“Yeah…That will be Great DADDY! I Love Milo…and they can all have Milo Dinosaur at my Party!”

Daddy immediately got to work and decided to write to Nestle to ask for sponsorship for the party.

To Daddy’s surprise and delight, they replied and they were willing to sponsor us with Milo memorabilia. Isn’t that Fantastic!

Mummy got really excited, and she even wanted me to ask for a Milo Factory Visit, and maybe get the Milo Van to come to the school…Unfortunately, Milo does not allow any visits to their factory, and I think 18 kids is not a good enough number to ask for the Milo Van…:)

But, we quickly got to work in terms of the Party Invitations, and we managed to use our FREE Canon Selphy Printer to produce this personalized invitation for Nicole’s friends in school.

We were GOOD TO GO!

Maybe Baby

What’s Maybe Baby?

maybebaby

Maybe Baby is a new web portal managed by I love Children to encourage young couples to have Children. If you are planning to have a baby, or having questions about conception, pregnancies and financial planning – This is the site for you!

The site is also of great interest to ED Unloaded, as  we have been invited to be a resident blogger, and write a weekly column for the site!

With such an agenda, it is naturally supported by MCYS (Ministry of Community Development),  and other organisations such as NTUC (Ed Unloaded is a resident blogger there as well).

Today’s official launch was graced by the MP of Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC (Mrs Jospehine Teo) and by other celebrities such as Diana Ser as well.

To follow-up on the launch, there will also be a host of Parenting Seminars and activities coming up, so stay tuned, as I will blog about these activities soon!

I also met some friends at the Launch! Here’s Daphne from Mother’s Inc , who is a fellow columnist on the web portal.

Check out my first article on the site, as it answers questions like why I started Blogging? If you think that I have always been good with children…You will definitely find out the truth from the article.

I also brought Nicole to the launch and she was very well behaved! :) Daddy was so proud of her, as she sat through the proceedings, and she even took pictures of Daddy, as he was being photographed by the Press and the photographers.

Goodnight Baby

Mummy blogs…

It’s bedtime. I told the stories, hugged them, said good nights, and gave the thousand kisses.

goodnight

*Lights off*

Just as I was about to turn and leave the room, Nicole started sobbing. Real sobbing.

“Mummy, I want you to sleep with us… I’m scared”

My goodness… where did that come from?

“It’s ok. Mummy loves you…close your eyes…” *hugs &kisses*

Sobbing continues…

Then we heard a little voice in the dark, it was Nathan.

“Mummy, why is che che (sister) crying?”

That was when I had a brilliant idea.

“Che Che (sister)  is scared. Can you hold her hand & tell her it’s ok?”

So they held hands. Sobbing subsided. I left the room.

About an hour later, I came into the room to check on them.
