Everyone loves a quick getaway, and with AirAsia, short holiday breaks are becoming a fun reality! Smile

AirAsia Getaway

Last Week, we had a chance to fly with AirAsia to Yogyakarta, Indonesia, for some quality time with my best friend and wife.   With so many budget airlines in the market, it is important to find a reliable Airline. AirAsia definitely falls into this category, as it is the Winner in the Skytrax World Airline Award for the Best Low Cost Airline Category. And this is an award that it has won for the 5th year running!!!

With flights to over 85 destinations throughout 18 countries, we were confident that we were going to have a safe and enjoyable journey to Yogyakarta.

One of the things about flying by Budget Airlines, is that flights do not include meals. Customers like myself, are therefore worried that we will be charged a King’s Ransom for in-flight food. Worse still, if the food is bland, tasteless and *yucky*!

However, AirAsia seems to break these mind sets by offering budget food, which is delicious at the same time! The Asian Fried Rice is tasty, and costing only $5, you are saved from a “growling tummy” over your flights.

We had the privilege of having our food booked online, and this did not just mean a 15% discount, but it also meant that we had to have our piping hot food served first to us! All this at prices starting from $5! Not too bad ya!

And you can also order meals like Spaghetti Bolognese, which is a Super Hot item for my kids! If you have elderly parents and restless kids with you, you can also opt for their Red Carpet Treatment. For just $55, you get priority boarding (avoid queuing up), priority baggage and their Premium Buffet Lounge Treatment. It’s like Budget Business Class! Smile

With comfortable seats, adequate leg room and a safe flight, I am ready for an “Off the Beaten Track” Adventure.

Yogyakarta certainly did not disappoint in this area! With 2 UNESCO World Heritage sites, Yogyakarta will prove to be great destination for any History Student! Will share more with everyone in the next post about my AirAsia Adventure! Smile (Click to find out more about our tour of Yogyakarta Indonesia)
