Ujong at Raffles Hotel

Sponsored Review

Located at the Historic Raffles Hotel, UJONG offers patrons expertly prepared local food, served with great hospitality. Tourists and locals alike, flock to our hawker centers for a taste of our signature local fare, unique to this little red dot. UJONG @ Raffles offers this extraordinary hawker experience, as a one stop station, where one can experience great Singaporean food, at the comfort of an iconic Singapore landmark – Raffles Hotel.

(The restaurant has ceased opertations on 1 May 2015, therefore this offer will no longer be valid)

UJONG prides itself for letting its food do the talking. Going back to basics with fresh ingredients and fundamental essential Singaporean cooking techniques, UJONG @ Raffles aims to delight and amaze each guest with its take on the well-loved Singaporean Cuisine. If you are looking for somewhere special to bring your Mum this Mother’s Day, how about bringing her to UJONG! As not all mothers may like Western food, and if you don’t want to go back to the same Chinese Restaurant, UJONG just be what you are looking for!

Here is a run down of the dishes that you can expect on their Special Mother’s Day Menu:

1) Mixed Grill Satay (Pork and Chicken)

With Homemade peanut sauce, cucumber salad and ketupats, the traditional Satay is a great dish to warm up the tummy for more to come. This local delicacy is well prepared, and we were quick to finish our well seasoned pieces of meat.

2) Abalone Popiah

72 hours braised sliced Abalone served together with turnips and eggs. The spring roll is another traditional favorite with Singaporean cuisine, and we had no problems enjoying this delicately prepared vegetarian dish.

 3) Pandan Chicken and Cashew Nuts

Boneless chicken, screw pine leaves and Asian spices. My boy loved the boneless chicken pieces, as they are easy to eat, and he does not need to worry about the bones.

4) He Ya Fan

Roast Pork, Braised Mushrooms with Double Cooked Jasmine Rice. The rice is fragrant, and this dish is great to fill up the tummy.

5) Laksa King Prawn

King Prawns in a Mild Spicy Coconut Broth, Fish Cakes, Cockles, Tau Pok, Bean Sprouts, Quail Eggs, Fresh Vietnamese Mint. Laksa is always a good local favorite, and the dish is tastefully done.

6) Char Kway Teow

Wok Fried Noodles with Chinese Sausages, River Prawns, Cockles, Squid, Silver Sprouts. Always a firm favorite for locals and tourists alike.

And lastly, every visitor gets 2 dishes for dessert:

7) Puloh Hitam

Slow-cooked Glutinous Black Rice with Coconut Cream, Orange Peel.

8) Mango Pudding

Housemade Mango Pudding with Crispy Dried Peach, and Fresh Mango.

And ALL this food is just for a price of $68++.

Usually at most restaurants, you can only choose 1 starter, 1 main course and 1 dessert. However, ALL these dishes are available for this Special Mother’s Day Menu at this one special price. There is no need to pay more for that Char Kway Teow, even though you had Laksa. Sounds tempting right! 🙂

The restaurant offers other specials as well. If you just want to “pop” by and sample the food before you make your choice, you can also experience their set lunch ($20++)  and special Teh Terik set ($5++ for 1 Teh Terik and 2 Paus) at affordable prices.
