Universal Studios: Madagascar

Universal studios is always a fun place for the family, and recently it just got more interesting!

They have just opened their latest Children’s ride Madagascar, and the family was invited to the Media Launch (Many Thanks to Matthew for the Invite).

The kids were not feeling too well, as they have just suffered a bout of Food Poisining, and so I got a few of my friends to accompany me for the event.

Everyone was really excited, as Universal Studios gave us VIP passes, and it meant that we did not need to line up for the rides!

Based on the most successful animate4ed move franchises of all time, the ride is a simple boat ride, that is ideally suited for 3-6 year olds.

As you catch the ride inspired by Dreamworks, you will get to see familiar characters such as Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe and Gloria the Hippo. It’s like taking a wake down memory lane as you see the Caricatures of these Characters in Action.

Here are some sneak peeks of the characters inside:

The ride was not scary for the kids at all,and they did not mind going for it again!

The ride was also fun for all of us,as we had a great time catching up with friends like Daphne, Klessis and a chance to meet Mr. Brown as well! Mr Brown is a real celebrity in the Singapore Blogsphere, and so we had fun getting to know him! :)

Listerine week 5

In this week’s Listerine Challenge, I am supposed to do one little thing that will make the people I love smile.

The kids have been “pestering me “ to bring them to a theme park, and they were delighted to hear that for this task – I was going to bring them to Universal Studios

Knowing that the Parks are pretty crowded on the weekends, Both Daddy and Mummy got an off-day on a normal weekday, and we headed for the park on a regular Monday. And we were right – there were no long queues for the rides!

The kids also showed various levels of endurance for the rides. Nathan loved the roller-coasters and he would ask to do them again. However, Nicole had to be coaxed to even go on one.

Frankly, if you are planning to bring our kids to the park, they must be at least 4yo, before they can enjoy some of the rides, or else you will always be stuck with the Merry Go Round.

Overall the kids had a great time…and it all started when Daddy and Mummy took some time off from work to spend some time with the kids.

It all goes to show that a little change in your schedule can go a long way with your kids! :)

In the same way, don’t underestimate the power of adding a small little bottle of mouth wash into your life! :)

Before you go, do remember to help me with my Listerine Challenge. Hopefully I am still in the “running” for the $5000 prize, and your VOTES and COMMENTS will go a long way to make this possible. Every times you post a mini-post of this blog in your Facebook wall, it also equates to 5 votes. So do help me out! :)

Resorts World

This week, I took the family for an “Eye-Opening” trip to Resorts World Sentosa.

Everyone is Singapore is “pumped up” for the Integrated Resorts and all of us are waiting for the Official Opening.

Rumours have been going round that the Casino will be opening up for business this Chinese New Year.

With many locals willing to try their luck at the tables, the Casino will definitely be a money-making venture!

Entry Prices are included in the picture below:

Looks like before you hit the tables, you will be losing money already :)

I know everyone has also been talking about the new boutiques that are setting up shop there. Well, you got to go early, as the shops close at 7pm.

Most of the shops are still not completed!

Contractors and technicians rushing to finish their jobs are a common sight.

Check out these contractors outside one of those expensive watch shops.

The carpet is so thick and expensive, that they have to take off their shoes and put a “cling wrap” on it, as they go about their business. Looks like I wont be able to afford anything here! :(

And of course, here we have the shop that is making a lot of “waves” in the local news. Singapore’s very 1st Victoria’s Secret!

Frankly, I don’t see the fuss, but as you know…We are a small island, and it does not take a lot to get the Newspapers excited! :)

Before I left, I also took a picture of  “Crockfords Tower”. This hotel is specially reserved for the “High Rolling” patrons of the Casino, and commoners like us are not allowed entry.

Expect All the shops to be functioning when the Casino opens in a few days’ time!

We are of course looking forward to the Universal Studios Theme Park!
