My wife’s first reaction was YEAH!!! Apparently this saves LOTS of electricity. You see, instead of slow cooking in a crock pot (which usually means switching on the pot through the day), you can now put it in the Thermos’ Shuttle Chef® and leave it to cook. No fire, no electricity, and same yummy results!
Just check out the simple diagram below. Normally it will take 55 mins to cook a curry dish. This will involve an estimated 55 minutes of boiling/heating over a stove. However, with the Thermos Shuttle chef, one only needs to use the fire for 25 min. The remaining 30 minutes of cooking time, is done through the Shuttle pot. Although cooking time is the same, the amount of fire used is reduced by 30min. This means savings for the whole family! 🙂
My wife was so excited about the possibilities with the cooker, that she went to research online for slow cooker recipes. The good news is that there are so many recipes online, as one can find recipes for soups, stews, porridge, steamed eggs, and even desserts. She finally decided that she will try to make good old Italian Minestrone Soup for the whole family! 🙂
I’m a noob in the kitchen, but I noticed she was only in there for a really short while! After breakfast, I saw her chop the vegetables and throwing them into the pot. And she put them to boil, which took about 8-10 min. After that, she popped the whole pot in the Thermos. And she was done! Yup. That’s all!! She spent the rest of the day outside the kitchen, doing her work, picking up the kids, and even had a nap!
It was dinner time, and I remember we were all curious how cool she was. She told all of us we get to drink really yummy Minestrone, but she didn’t even step in the kitchen since early morning. It was strange! At the dinner table, she brought out the Thermos. when she opened the pot, ooooooooh the smell!! Check out the soup!
I’m amazed! And the soup tasted wonderful!! The vegetables were soft and the soup was so so flavourful!
