If you find yourself in the Vivo City area, head on down to STREET 50 restaurant and Bar, which is located at Bay Hotel. At STREET 50, you will find an Asian Buffet which promises to take you on an Gastronomic journey to countries like Vietnam, Hong Kong and Japan.
The Hotel situated just opposite St James Power Station is ideal for travellers who want to go to Universal Studios, but at the same time, are looking for better access to the city. If you are in that area for the weekend, do drop by at the hotel to sample the buffet for yourselves.
Daring to be different, the experienced Head Chef Ricky is always looking to introduce something new to the buffet. They have 4 different menus that is rotated each week. Patrons should call ahead, to find out what they are serving, so as not to miss out on their favourite dishes. With Asian flavours in mind, guests will always find something that reminds them of home, as we were surprised to find local favourites like Mee Rebus to welcome us.
As Asian food can be spicy, you will be glad to know that the menu has children friendly dishes. The kids enjoyed their Kong Pow chicken and Stir Fried Beef with Black Bean Sauce, while daddy was happy with his Salmon Sashimi. Do watch out for the Drunken Chicken from China, which has been a hit with many guests. Pampered with brandy and sherry, and bathed in Asian seasoning, this dish is something to look out for. For those of us who love crabs, do try the piping hot Tamarind Flower crabs.
The Asian Gastronomic Voyage buffet is priced at $25++ for adults and $12++ for kids aged 6 to 12 year old. It is available every Saturday and Sunday from 12pm to 4pm.
