Mister Maker is in Town
Just when I thought that I could do away with my Starhub Cable Box, I find out about “Mister Maker”
If you have kids and are looking for some inexpensive ways to do Art and Craft with them – Mister Maker is the Man for you!
Using everyday items that you find in the home, Mister Maker is an engaging character who creates the unexpected with items such as plastic cups, shower gel bottles, cotton wool and paint.
Our family was privileged to be invited to the Media Launch of his program at Paragon, and we got to participate in a mini-workshop, as he showed us how to make “Alien Eyes” with some pipe cleaners and a hair band. Quite Ingenious I must say! 🙂
I think many parents in Singapore have not heard of Mister Maker, but after meeting him in person, I think that this will change! (Do you know that Mister Maker has been on cable in Indonesia, and 8,000 kids were there to greet him, when he was there last week!!)
Besides being witty and dramatic, Mister Maker has a really magnetic personality when he works with the kids.
He even paid special attention to our little Nathan, who was not in a particular photogenic mood… (Sigh…)
But, after that bit of personal attention from “Mister Maker”, Nathan even wore the hair band that he was working on (Previously, it was a No-No, because Nathan says that “It’s for GIRLS”)
I had an opportunity to speak to Mister Maker, and found out that the popular series started in 2007. When asked where they got their creative ideas from, I found out that their Art and Craft ideas come from everyday items from home. Simply Creative if you ask ME!
So if you are looking to recycle and re-use your everyday materials, this is the show for you!
If you want to catch the show, Mister Maker is on Starhub Cable Channel 303 daily at 730pm, 1130am, 330pm, 730pm and 1130pm.
