LG Optimus G Review

Singaporeans love our mobile phones and our nation rates as the World leader in terms of Smartphone Penetration. Everyone seems to have an iPhone or a Samsung. It was therefore with much interest, that I got hold of the latest LG Optimus G Smartphone!
Last year, I finally gave up on my Blackberry, and I hopped onto the Android Platform. I loved the new platform, but I was a bit disappointed with my brand new Smartphone after 6 months! To my horror, it began to lag! This was terrible news, as when I had to make an urgent phone call, I was actually waiting for the mobile to respond to my selections. It began to dawn upon me that, the speed of the microchip really matters!
This is why the LG’s latest Optimus G got me really excited!
With a 4.7 inch Full HD screen, the LG Optimus G has a 1.5 Ghz Quad Core SnapDragon S4 Pro Processor and has 2 Gb of Ram.
Built with a cool palm sized scratch-resistant finish, the Optimus G is slim enough to fit comfortably into your jeans pocket. What’s more, is that it has a back 13 MP and front 1.3 MP camera. For Camera enthusiasts, you will be glad to know that the camera has a cool Time Catch Smart Mode (Takes 5 shots before the actual shot), and a voice activated Camera function as well. I will be trying out the cool functions over the next few weeks and letting everyone know how it works!
As Battery life is very important for any Smart Phone, it boosts of a 2,100 mAh Battery. This means that like any Smart Phone, the battery has less than 30% power by evening. However, with the Built in Economy Mode, the Phone is smart enough to shut down its Quad Core and other non-essential items like Bluetooth, in order to conserve Battery Life. This power-saving mode is definitely useful when one just needs an extra few hours before the next charge.
I love the fact that the LG Optimus has a a “Window in Window” Function which allows you to multi-task , especially when lots of Singaporeans watch Korean Movies and reply emails at the same time. This Q Slide function will be a definite everyday function in the many more Smart Phones to come.
One really surprising thing about the Optimus G Smart Phone is the factory supplied ear phones! Sales Executives tell me that it is compared to Beats Audio Ear Phones, and I must say that it packs a good punch as compared to its “Richer” counterpart. I am therefore not surprised that many people have dropped in to the LG shop, just to get their headphones. It’s real value for money as it retails at less than $40 for a “ tangle free” earpiece.
Overall, I am looking forward to how my LG mobile, is making me “Change for good”! The kids meanwhile love the new gadget that Daddy has, and they have been busy playing with the phone! Looking forward to share more with everyone over the coming weeks!
