Halloween at the Night Safari
Last year, we organized our own Halloween Party and many of us really enjoyed ourselves. This year, thanks to Eunice, we had the privilege to be invited to the Night Safari Halloween Party through Icon! 🙂
Based on the theme of Asian Ghosts, the whole Night Safari was crawling with creepy creatures ready to scare locals and tourist at the Safari. Check out some of the “friendly ghouls” here:
The Scarecrow on the left really enjoyed his role a lot. He would stand against a pillar and lay there motionless. Just when people start thinking that he is a Mannequin, he will sneak up behind them and give a LOUD “BOO!”. We heard many screams around him! 🙂
This year, there is a new addition to the Halloween Party at the Night Safari. The Haunted or Gui Mansion has a 1.5hour queue time, and this is the attraction that we visited first.
Btw, if you are wondering whether the kids went along, we left them in the safe hands of their Popo, as we did not want to risk them getting nightmares! 🙂
Entering into the zoo, we were faced with loud speakers blasting scary music. The trail was also decorated with tombstones, and these decorations prepared us mentally for the mansion…
Was it Scary?
Let’s just say that my wife was glad that we were sent into the Gui Mansion in groups of 15! Even then, she was holding onto me really tight.
My wife would rate this attraction at 4 out of 5 Stars, and I would rate it 3 out of 5 Stars.
After that, we headed back towards the Night Safari, and we headed towards the other main attractions: Train of Terror, and the Trail of the Undead.
Just in case you are going this weekend, I will not reveal the items found in the Haunted house and other attractions. But here are my ratings for the other 2 attractions.
Train of Terror – I think that the anticipation of waiting for the ghouls to appear is really scary. Coupled with the fact that I was busy fiddling with my camera, made me an easy target to shock. (4 out of 5 Stars). My wife gives it the same rating.
Trail of the Undead – My wife would rate this trail the scariest. Walking around a 3m pathway, you are brought along the trail to visit the animals, as well as meeting some UNFRIENDLY ENCOUNTERS along the way! The scare factor here is definitely high, as the Ghosts will jump out from the bushes to scare you. (5 out of 5 Stars)
Sounds interesting right! 🙂 If you are going for the Night Safari this weekend, here are some simple tips for you:
Tips for the Night Safari
1. Go Early – The Night Safari is really crowded and the Car Park was full when I reached at 730pm. I had to end up parking along Mandai Road instead.
2. Which Attraction First? – Line up for the Gui Mansion First. The queue time is at least 1.5 hours ! If you go for the other attractions first, you might not get to experience this attraction.
3. Good Place to Bring your Date? – Well, let’s just say that my wife was holding on to me for dear life! 🙂
And lastly…don’t forget to bring your camera to take lots of pictures! 🙂
