In choosing a bed, there are 3 main things, that every customer should be looking out for. So, buckle your seatbelts, as you are going to get a quick crash course on choosing a mattress.

3 Quick Tips on choosing a Mattress:

1. Comfort

Comfort is a matter of preference! My wife likes the mattress to be firm, while I like them soft. Therefore, when choosing a mattress, it is best to bring along your other half! This will also ensure that you don’t end up sleeping on the floor! Smile

Sealy offers mattress with different levels of comfort. They are available in firm, cushion firm, plush and ultra plush. Sealy Posturepedic sleep systems offer correct back support regardless of firmness.

So in order for you to choose your mattress, you need to lie down and sleep on it for a while. Ya…very touch job right! Smile  This was definitely the part I enjoyed, as I moved from mattress to mattress, lying on each for at least 3-5 minutes. It was definitely a relaxing experience!

2. Support

A good mattress must give good support to the one sleeping. Sealy Posturepedic sleep systems offer correct back support regardless of firmness. You know you are in good hands, when you realize that the Sealy Posturepedic design is crafted in cooperation with orthopedic surgeons and patented in 1950.

The myth “firmer is better” is not necessarily true. Your body type determines what comfort is better for you.

A mattress that’s too firm for your body will not support all parts of the body evenly, and may cause discomfort at the body’s heaviest parts, the shoulders and hips. The increased pressure on these points reduces blood circulation and will cause tossing and turning. This may result in a poor night’s sleep and a far less productive day.

When a mattress is too soft, it will not keep your spin in proper alignment. This will cause your muscles to work through the night leaving you tired and aching in the morning resulting in a less effective day.

The best test for proper support is to lie down on the mattress and experience its support by lying the way you do while asleep. If you feel your body sagging, the mattress is not giving you enough support. Also, if you feel excessive pressure, the mattress is probably giving you too much support.

3. Durability

As most Singaporeans do not change their beds very often, durability is very important.

The durability of a mattress in dependent on the type of steel, and the design of the spring unit. For example, Sealy coil systems are heat tempered twice, which helps maintain their shape so they last longer.

Built with a system that absorbs the major portion of stress and weight placed, a Sealy mattress is built to last.

Good sleep is essential, as studies have shown that a lack of it, will result in unnecessary weight gain. So, if you are tired of tossing and turning in your sleep, a good mattress is essential!

With these factors in mind, I was ready to lie down and select the best bed based on the budget given to me! Smile
