Growing up, I did not have the luxury of having good skin. As I entered puberty, I had the daunting challenge that every hot blooded teenager hated to face…I had to face the problem of Pimples and battle with lots of it!
Already challenged with the weird things that were happening to my body, my self worth was severely challenged when there was a shinning pimple smack right in the centre of my nose. I felt like Rudolph and I was definitely not looking forward to sing, or to hum any melody associated with that Christmas Carol. Pimples certainly did make me feel awkward, and it gave me the strange feeling, that everyone was staring at my face, when I walked down the street…

I am so glad that those days are over, but unfortunately the oily skin and the acne scars still remain. I was therefore overjoyed when Bioskin and Omy invited me to experience Bioskin’s Skin Rebirth treatment at one of Bioskin’s many outlets.
So, what exactly is Skin Rebirth?

Fractional Radio Frequency
Fractional RF energy is emitted by fractional sub-pulses spaced by very short pauses of thermal relaxation time in one treatment pulse. This modality enables to achieve an enhanced effect of deeper penetration and optimized efficacy, with less discomfort to the patient and a deeper gradual dermal effect. Fractional energy is delivered in a controlled manner leaves intact zones in between the targeted areas which serve as a reservoir of healthy cells to promote faster, more effective wound healing.

After reading about the whole process, I was really excited to see what the treatment could do for me. Therefore, I booked a morning appointment with Bioskin, and made my way down to one of Bioskin’s outlets at Orchard Central. Looking at the number of awards Bioskin has won, I had the assurance that I was going to be in good hands.
Being a Newbie to the whole Bioskin process, their friendly consultant made an initial evaluation of my skin. Using a powerful optical tool, they were able to take a close-up on my facial skin condition. As I have gone for a facial for ages, I was not surprised when they told me that I had tons of black heads, and that my pores were also clogged up.
Next up, before I went in for treatment, we decided to take a photo of my overall facial condition.
Through my talk with the Bioskin consultant, I also realized that there is a certain amount of pain involved in the treatment. I therefore opted for the consultant to apply the “numbing” cream on my face. The cream takes effect after 15 minutes, numbing the skin.
Will you sleep through the process?
Not really…There is a certain amount of pain involved. The consultant will move the equipment systematically over your face. Each time she comes to a spot, she will pause there for about 2 seconds, sending the Radio Frequency energy through your skin. It will feel like a small red ant bite, which will quickly disappear almost immediately after you feel it. Like what they say, there is always a price to pay for beauty!
The whole treatment takes about an hour, and this is what I looked like after the process!

After the treatment, one needs to constantly moisturise the skin, as the skin will exfoliate naturally by itself. I was advised to give myself a mask treatment, 2 days after the treatment as well.
However, do take note that your skin will be red for the next 24 hours after the treatment. As I only had the morning off from work, I went back to the office in the afternoon, and my colleagues thought that I went Sun Tanning. It would be good to arrange for a night appointment, as that way, you can head back home, to give your face ample time to rest.
I definitely liked the benefits of the Bioskin Skin Rebirth, and I am looking forward to the upcoming Cyro Splash Face Treatment. This treatment will calm, soothe the skin and make it glow!
