Barbie Live Review
Growing up, I have never owned a Barbie Doll. In fact, I have never been in close proximity of these dolls, as every boy’s manhood will be in question, if you had these flawless creatures in your toy cabinet. However, ever since, my 2 daughters came into my life, Barbie dolls, Barbie Bungalows, Barbie DVDs and dresses, have been a regular feature around the house.
And if you have heard…the ultimate childhood fantasy is in town!
Yes! Barbie is here at Marina Bay Sands to Perform LIVE!
And my ears are still “ringing” from shouts of jubilation, when I told my little girls that they were going to watch Barbie LIVE!
If you are wondering what the musical is about, it’s basically about the celebration of friendship. Barbie helps out her BFF Teresa to find her confidence and to basically believe in herself. All your famous Barbie characters are involved in this musical, and of course you will find Ken there as well!
Should you bring your kids to Barbie?
If you have girls, most definitely – as it is their MUSICAL.
Daddy may not know the songs and the scenes, but all the girls did. The musical incorporated scenes from the Princess series: Swan Lake, Princess and the Popstar, and Mariposa. The kids got a real “kick” watching their cartoons come to life, and it did not take them long to join in the songs!
My 8yo loved the show! She liked Barbie as, “…She was very kind and clever and her friend Teresa was also very brave. I was very surprised when she didn’t quit and continued performing!” An important lesson about not giving up!
Apart from the music and songs, the “draw” of the musical was demonstrated during the intermission. I saw little girls trying to do splits, in the waiting area outside the toilets! 
Together with many little girls dressed in pink (and a few men as well…ahem…), the night was truly magical for the kids!
Did my boy go for the Musical?
Yes he did! He did not want to be left out, and insisted on going for the musical. Although he did not try to show it, he was humming and tapping to the songs he knew as well!
If you are going to watch the musical, you will be glad to know that this is the first time this musical is shown in the world and it is Premiering in Singapore!
Tickets start from $35, and there will be 3 shows times this Sat. The show will run from 10 to 14 September 2013.
