With the many Ramen stalls that are sprouting out all over the island, Singaporeans have been experiencing a Ramen Revival! The growing demand is evident, when we see many hungry patrons lining up outside Ramen outlets, for a chance to savour their favourite Japanese noodles. Flowing with this pent up demand,  we were keen to explore the many different Ramen Restaurants in the city. Just recently, we were invited to “Ramen Matsuri”, which is located in the Boat Quay area.

Founded by Kenichi Ikehata 33, the chef hails from Tokyo, starting out in a well known Chinese Restaurant in Shinjuku Tokyo. Soon after, he came to Singapore in 2007, working as the branch chef of the franchise department of Marutama Ramen. In 2013, and with 13 years of culinary experience under his belt, he started Ramen Matsuri which is a stones throw from UOB Building in the Boat Quay area.

As Singaporeans are getting more health conscious,  patrons will be glad to know that this traditional Japanese restaurant offers premium chicken meat that is free of antibiotics and growth hormones. Sakura Chicken Ramen offers chicken that is bred through the strains of Mozart Music, where their free roaming habitat produces chicken with less fat and cholesterol, together with great flavour at the same time. If the musical qualities can be transferred through consumption, I will be eating these feathered friends everyday! Smile

Your Ramen comes with 2 kinds of soup. One can choose between the milky rich soup, which is brewed with Kami Sakura Chicken  over 4 hours, or the normal clear soup which boosts of similar qualities. Personally, I prefer the milky rich soup, which offers more flavours than the latter.

As a lover of fried chicken, I devoured the fried chicken pieces that was on the menu. The chicken would definitely go down well with a bit of sake especially after a long day at work.
