Jurong Bird Park

Last week, we were invited to Jurong Bird Park to view the latest attractions at the Park.

For this December Holidays, Jurong Bird Park is having a special Penguin Wonderland to commemorate the launch of its new Penguin Exhibit. With Penguin Parties every weekend and Snow Fun at the park…it promises to be an exciting visit for the kids!

As we arrived early, we had lunch at the Hawk Cafe, which has a lunch menu for the kids and as well as local favorites such as Nasi Lemak and Hainanese Chicken Rice!

The Rice is specially prepared by hand and it is quite a tasty dish, especially if it is your first time in Singapore.

Lunch was also a good time for me to catch up with fellow Parenting Blogger Leonny, who we get to see quite often at many other Parenting Events.

One of the highlights for this December is the Penguin Party at 130pm. Besides the Dancing Penguins that lead the children in a Penguin dance, Santa and his little helpers will be present to add a bit of “Xmas Cheer” to the atmosphere.

The older kids also enjoyed the magic show! I was quite intrigued by Pirate Pete’s Magic Table. Yes…It actually levitated.

Like something out of those famous Street Magic Shows that we get to watch on TV, the table actually flew off the ground as he held on to the table cloth! The little girl who came out to help him with the trick was really overjoyed to be party of that trick. (Daddy was left thinking…he must have paid a lot of money for that magical table…:)

One of the many Perks of joining the Party, is that you are also invited to have your photo taken with “Pinky” the Penguin!

To catch the Penguins in action, do visit the exhibits at 1030am and at 330pm, which is “Feeding Time” for our little feathered friends.

The new Penguin exhibit is out in the sun, not in the regular cooled enclosure. You know why?

Because these are African Penguins! They don’t need to be kept in a cooler climate. “Feeding Time” involves both the African Penguins and their cousins which are kept in their “refrigerated homes!”

If your Kids really want to experience Snow in Hot Sunny Singapore, you can also let them experience the foam party at the Bird Park! (Available only on Weekends and up to 26 Dec 2010)
