Some of you may be wondering what on earth is this gallery about, and is it worth visiting? And the truth is that, Downtown East does not even sound to be a credible location for an Art Show!

But to my surprise…This is a very good art show where the Pictures literally come Alive!…And if your kids are 5 years and older…this is the Best Art Show that you can bring them to!

As the Art Pieces are Interactive!!!

Consisting of 49 Interactive exhibits ranging from primitive art to the Renaissance period and Modern Art.

The exhibition originated from South Korea, and transports you from hot Singapore to the Museums in Europe!  You get to touch and gaze at the replicas of Famous paintings.

Here is a picture of the Kids looking at the Ancient Exhibits:

These Art exhibits were hanging on the wall and had interactive depictions on how each were painted, and the importance of the people depicted. You may recognize some of these paintings!

The children got to see paintings such as the The Birth of Venus by Sandro Botticelli up close. And there was a helpful write-up next to the paintings to describe the paintings and the significance of the the characters depicted. This information is very useful for an severely Challenged Art Enthusiast like myself! 🙂

There were also Interactive Theatres, where Michelangelo will interact with you, as you ask him scripted questions about his work at the Sistine Chapel. Mummy was intrigued by the facts presented at the painting of The Last Supper by Le0nardo Da Vinci.

And the kids personal favourite was when they got to meet Mona Lisa.

Through a carefully concealed Webcam, the kids could talk to Mona Lisa and ask her any questions about her.

Through our conversations , it was revealed that she took 4 years to paint, and that she is always smiling as there was food and music in the background as she was being painted.

I asked her, Why do you speak with a Singapore Accent?”

She replied, “So that I can immerse myself in the Singapore Culture!”

It is really quite fun, and Nicole and Nathan were laughing their heads off, as the painting looked, smiled and answered their questions! A Real Hit with the KIDS!

There were also live sized replicas of the actual scenes depicted in famous paintings, where you could take pictures of yourselves.

Dutch Artist Vincent Van Gogh’s “Cafe Terrace at Night” was featured as a background, where the family could pose and take pictures of themselves.

The kids really enjoyed the unique scenery and were spontaneously clowning around, when it was time for photos!

With 49 exhibits, I think the gallery is worth the price, as the kids really learn a lot, especially when they are in Primary School and guided by an adult!
