My Little Pony fans can’t wait for the upcoming musical and we managed to interview Chloe Macgregor (Lead Actress, Twilight Sparker) and Jamie Neale (Director) about their thoughts on the production.
What audiences can expect to experience from this brand new Musical?
Chloe: The Musical is filled with fun, exciting characters and magical adventures with spectacular uplifting choreography by our wonderful ensemble.
Which part of My Little Pony inspires you most?
Chloe: The element of friendship, myfavourite scene is Through The Ages when the principles (Rainbooms) all sing in harmony and feel their true friendship magic.
In view of the fervent passion adults have for My Little Pony, how does the Director make the Musical entertaining and accessible enough for children, yet sophisticated and appealing to adults?
Jamie: There are certain scenes and choreographic elements which makes the production as a whole interesting to watch, using impressive lighting with floor mapping & complex high quality video projection for a visual aid marrying both live performance & technology together in a seamless accessible rock version of My Little Pony.
What are the challenges faced and joy experienced when preparing/staging this brand new Musical?
Jamie: Modernising the production with new and exciting influences that are circulating with Broadway (New York) & West End (London) but still keeping the true content and contextuality to the story of My Little Pony.
What is the one message Jamie/Chloe hope children/adults will take away from the Musical?
Jamie / Chloe: Your friends always have your back, no matter what.
Which life lesson in My Little Pony has touched the heart of Jamie/Chloe?
Jamie / Chloe: Always stay true to yourself
