Staycation at Shangri-la Singapore
Parents who have busy schedules or a tight budget are looking more and more at Staycations to give the family a good holiday. Saving on ones’ travelling expenses, one should look to spend a bit more on accommodation, so that the family can enjoy luxurious comforts, as they take a break from work. As usual, we turned to our favorite hoteliers Shangri-La Singapore, to give us an unforgettable experience 🙂

Recently, we were invited for a Staycation at Shangri-la Singapore, and the kids thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it. Coming out of an apartment with small bedrooms, to a 72 square metres Horizon Grand Premier Room, is a definite heaven and earth moment. Imagine a big mega room, where kids have plenty of space to run and somersault! Need I say more 🙂
Built to accommodate the kids, guests do not need to pay for the extra bed or cot on this family stays for FREE staycation. Together with the Shangri-la touch of class, the kids needed a good 15 minutes to calm down, after stepping through the front door
Besides the walk-in wardrobe and the welcome fruit basket with chocolates, another key highlight of our stay was the bathroom. Approximately the size of a HDB Master Bedroom, the toilet has more than enough room to accommodate the whole family at the same time. With a bathtub that the kids could not wait to utilize, the Horizon Club Rooms come with complimentary L’occitane toiletries. Yes! Luxury scented soap, body creams and shower gels to pamper the whole family on this relaxing staycation.
We checked in at about 2pm, and we were in time to head upstairs to the Horizon Club Lounge. Resting on the top most floor of the tower wing, the whole family can enjoy panoramic views of Orchard Road with complimentary High Tea. Yes! Sipping tea with scones and sandwiches is the perfect way to start off any vacation!
Next up is Pool Time! The Shangri-la Swimming Pool comes equipped with the usual amenities and an outdoor jacuzzi which the whole family can utilize. The kids don’t seem to have problems, when it comes to relaxing, and we had lots of family time in the jacuzzi and at the kids pool 🙂
Together with Orchard Road nearby, we were able to end the day with a walk down Singapore’s famous shopping district. We popped by Lido Theatre and we were able to catch a family movie, as we walked home from the cinema.
Our Stay at Shangri-la will not be complete without breakfast at “The Line”. Renown for it’s large spread, the kids will able to have Western, Chinese and Indian food in one sitting! 🙂 As an aside, in terms of flavor, the food quality seems to have gone up at “The Line”, and we enjoyed the array of tastes on parade at this morning buffet.
After breakfast, we were once again able to catch more snooze and mummy was able to curl up with a good book in the room’s lazy chair. Daddy had lots of free time, and also able to catch up on his writing! 🙂 The great thing about the package, is that it allows for a SUPER LATE check out at 6pm!
