In my limited Chinese, I can tell you that Dian Xiao Er represents a coffee shop for travellers. In fact, many a times when you watch the period movies, you will always come across the term Dian Xiao Er. Just check out the interior decor of the restaurant!
The moment you step into Dian Xiao Er, you will realize that the restaurant lives up to its name. With its rustic decoration, one does feel that you are brought back into time. Cool Right!
And if you are wondering how is the food, here is preview of their dishes! For its signature dishes, Dian Xiao Er is reknown for its Herbal Roast Duck.
With traditional preparation techniques, Dian Xiao Er’s ducks are marinated overnight to allow the herbal flavours to permeate each duck. Duck are then roasted with herbs and wines sealed with their stomaches, resulting in a flavourful sauce that resides within the duck. In other words, you will get a delicious flavourful duck every time! 
Personally I love prawns, so one of the dishes that really sat well with me, were the Baked Fresh Prawns Jiangnan (Gangnam) style. Sauteed with wine, butter and herbs, the prawns were deliciously big and juicy.
Here are some pictures of their other interesting dishes on offer. With dishes like Claypot pot belly with Salted fish, and wheatgrass tofu, you are getting great value for money when you dine at Dian Xiao Er.
