NTUC Fairprice Warehouse Club
Thinking of how to cut down on household expenses on Groceries? With Christmas just round the corner, every dollar counts! And that’s why we were thrilled when we found out that Fairprice has just launched its first warehouse outlet. This members only Warehouse club offers warehouse prices for groceries and household consumables.
With such savings being offered, our family was so excited, as we trooped our way down to the the 80,000 sq ft, two-storey retail store, located at 1 Joo Koon Circle. Located just next to Joo Koon MRT, this NTUC FairPrice offers great bargains for the family.
The warehouse just opened and although it is a bit limited in household consumables at the moment, we still managed to pick up some great bargains! In anticipation of the upcoming Christmas parties that we will be having, check out the Kettle Potato Chips that we bought!
At 907gm, the Kettle Sea Salt chips cost me only $8.90. The regular 107gm found costs about $5 or $3.50, when on promotion. This is a definite BIG SAVINGS!
Natures Valley which offers really healthy snack bars was another product that I noticed. Normally,12 bars at NTUC would cost about $5.80. Here, you can buy a MEGA 60 Bars for $14.95! Great Savings here!!!
Kellogg’s Frosties would normally cost $11..80 for 750gm. At the NTUC FairPrice warehouse, it cost $14.70 for 1.7kg
I think I got your interest right! 🙂
However, NTUC still needs to work on variety. For example, for Natures Valley, I normally eat the Dark Chocolate Bars. Unfortunately, they only had about 2-3 flavors available.
The same goes for Cereal. My wife likes the range from Great Grains, and it was unavailable at the Warehouse.
The good news, is that there are reports that the range being offered will be growing.
Other things in our shopping cart was Frozen Soup from Fassler. Fassler is the local seafood specialist. Lots of Singaporeans head to their warehouse in Woodlands to pick up stuff like Salmon at wholesale prices. (Read about Fassler)
If you have been overseas, the warehouse members concept is similar with what they have at Costco. It is therefore not surprising that FairPrice that they have similar tie-ups with Costco and Carrefour to bring in the savings for Singaporeans, when they purchase in bulk.
To get the savings, you can sign up for membership online or at the store. Currently, there are no large crowds yet, so you can afford to sign up when you have browsed through the store and surveyed if the bargains suit your family.
Membership is open to all members of the public. It costs S$35 per year for NTUC Union members and S$50 per year for non-union members.
Warehouse Club purchases are not entitled to FairPrice reward schemes such as LinkPoints, but you can pay for your purchases using all major Credit Cards.
