Review of Bubble Magic by Pep Bou
There was excitement in the air, as Parents tried their best to hold on to their kids! We were at the Premier of Bubble Magic by Pep Bou at Raffles Hotel!
We are in the One week September Holidays and Parents are wondering how to occupy their kids. If your children are under 12yo, iBubble Magic ight be the show that you are looking for!
Known as the master of Bubbles, the Spanish Born Pep Bou has been playing with bubbles for more than three decades. Starting a theatrical career as a mime artist in the mid 70s before combining his passion for chemistry to entertain audiences of all ages. It is therefore not surprising that there is a heavy use of mime throughout the production.
How was the production?
Kids will enjoy the clever usage of slapstick, music, mime and of course bubbles to create the atmosphere of wonder throughout the show. The 2 actors were definitely engaging, and at one point, they had all the kids and parents shouting “Choo Choo” in response to their play acting (you would have to see it, to understand the importance of that sound effect). I was looking at how the children responded to the show, and they were definitely captivated.
The only complaint was that I did find the show a tad long, when we crossed the 1 hour mark, and tickets on the pricier side. However, if you are looking to expose your children to something different, this is one show worth considering.
The run ends this Sunday, so if you are game for some bubbles, get your tickets at SISTIC
