Kooza Cirque du Soleil

Everyone loves the Circus! Kooza by Cirque du Soleil is no exception! Making camp at the Marina Bay Sands, this Big Top is set to thrill the Singapore audiences from 12 July to August 20, 2017. Packed with clowns and acrobats, Kooza will prove to be a hit with the whole family.

Going with the kids to opening night, we could sense the excitement in the air, the moment we were in the vicinity of the ticket office. We could tell from the boisterous chatter that everyone was looking forward to the show. The Cirque du Soleil is a Canadian Entertainment company which has made its name with the Circus. Having much experience with such setups, you can bring the young and the old (Wheelchairs included) to the Cirque, as there are plenty of ramps and family friendly amenities for all guests.  If your whole clan is coming with you on this outing, do make sure that you arrive early, as there are security checks at the door.

We were glad that we entered the famed yellow and blue tents before 8 pm, as we had time to just soak in the atmosphere and be entertained by the clowns.  As you can hear from the video, the kids were chuckling hilariously, as the clowns made their rounds.  

How was Kooza?

Definitely entertaining! The Ooos and the Ahhhs did not just come from the kids but also from the adults. Being up close to the action was a real plus point, as the kids could see the facial expressions of the acrobats and it also meant that we were up close to the action.

Modern circuses mostly do not come with any animals, so being up close to the action brings up the “Thrill” factor up a few notches.  One of the biggest acts of the night was the “Wheel of Death”. The wheel was kept in motion by the 2 acrobats who walked and ran within the mini wheels of death. Just watching them jump, leap and do a somersault at the apex of the swing made our hearts jump together with the acrobats. This act had me so transfixed, that I did not manage to take any videos, while the act was in full motion!

The show is certainly something different and I personally believe that it will be a great outing for the family. There are family discounts (20%) for the show and tickets for Matinees are sold at a 30% discount (Conditions apply).
