Kids Pictures!

Kids grow up so fast, and we need to constantly update our pictures just to keep up with them! Family portraits are therefore essential tools to record these memories. We have not taken a family portrait for a while, and therefore when we were recently invited to Kid’s pictures at Tanglin to take some family studio photos, we jumped at the chance! 🙂

Located at Tanglin Mall, Kids pictures is a family photography boutique studio specializing in infants and kids. Privileged to have captured the photos of many royal families in the world, their experience in family photography allows them to bring out the best in every child. Such skills are infinitely important when photographing toddlers and kids, as children have their moods and they need to be totally relaxed to bring out the best in them.

And the truth to be told, we needed that kind of expertise on the day of the shoot. Nathan was having an “Off Day”, and not in the mood for any photo shoot. In fact, he requested for a Coke to cool him down, as it was a hot day outside. *Eyes rolling*. Kudos to our experienced Camera women, who made the kids feel at ease, and she was able to get some great shots of my little Divas. We have been to a few photo shoots, and she definitely ranks as one of the best photographers that we had, as she was great at getting the kids to laugh and smile with her. This was also the only studio that we went to, which had a photographers assistant. I think that she was really essential, as she helped to tickle the kids, and adjusted their hair when it was out of place (These are things that kids will never think of adjusting).

Although we were tired after our 1.5 hour shoot, we can truthfully say that we enjoyed ourselves, as the whole session was great fun and physical bonding for the whole family. You can imagine the headache that we had, when it was time for us to come back and select the photos. There were so many nice shots, that it was simply a pain, when we had to choose between the photos! Kind of reminds me of our wedding photos…the agony…:)

Naturally, we had to restrict our choices due to price constraints, but we made sure that we opted for photos of the kids, single shots of themselves alone, and the family. We made sure that we kept the photo of Nadine without her teeth, as you will never look like that again! Certainly a milestone that is worth keeping, although not the most glamorous! 🙂

At the end of the day, the whole family had great fun, and best of all we went back with lots of permanent memories. And together with the printed photos that come with every package, it means that we have new photos to give to the grandparents! Looks like everyone is going home happy!

If you have the extra budget in your family, we would definitely recommend going to a studio to record these memories. Let’s face it, the kids will never look this way again…and we may not be able to look as young and as slim in a few years time. For some of us, it might already be too late *wink*!
