Annie the Musical is here!

This weekend promises to be an exciting week as the World’s best loved Musical “Annie” is back at Marina Bay Sands! The original broadway musical, which has won a Tony Award for Best Musical, and a score done by Tony Award Winners Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, is a classic musical, that one cannot miss!  As this ever cheerful red-haired girl makes her way to Singapore, Annie the Musical promises to warm and entertain the hearts of the whole family

The last time, when Annie the Musical was in town, I remember my eldest girl going for the auditions. Although she did not make the cut, “Annie” seems to have carved a special place in this family’s heart. Whenever we are down and out, we find it easy to break into the chorus of “Tomorrow”, as it is such an easy tune to lift any situation. Together with songs like  “It’s the Hard Knock Life, this musical promises to be light-hearted, and an easy introduction for newcomers going to the theatre for the first time! 🙂

If you are wondering what the musical is about, Annie the Musical is set during the Great Depression, where we are introduced to Annie an orphan! Like any orphan, she is searching for the dream of finding her “parents”, and the stage is set for Billionaire Oliver Warbucks, as he invites young Annie to his mansion.  Every good story needs a villain, and the plot thickens, as Miss Hannigan hatches a plan, to make millions out of the whole situation.
