Blue Man Group Review
Forgive my ignorance but I have never heard of the Blue Man Group! The only Blue people that I know are Smurfs, and a theatre production involving Blue Man who play percussion with pipes and drums is not something that I am used to. I was therefore a bit apprehensive to bring my kids, as I did not know what to expect….Were they going to be bored? Were they entertaining? These were the normal questions that flooded my mind!

After watching the Gala Performance at Marina Bay Sands, I can safely tell you I am impressed! We laughed, clapped, moved, and were entertained throughout the night. My kids enjoyed every minute of this production, and we definitely don’t mind catching them again! 🙂
Being around for about 25 years, the Blue Man Group is a high energy group which is a global phenomenon. They have been a smash hit off Broadway and on the Las Vegas strip, bringing with them their own brand of humor, and intelligent use of technology.
Watching the production, we loved the groups intelligent use of lights and technology. The LED screens were used artistically to bring out each act, and enhance the ideas which the Blue Men want to communicate. One act involved an Iphone like device, which was used interactively to bring out the comical nuances of technology. Needless to say, the crowd roared in delight, applauding the ideas communicated through the various apparatus used on the stage.
If you are wondering, the whole act does not involve any dialogue, as the Blue Man do not utter a single word throughout their act. Through the use of body language and gestures, the Blue Man gets the audience to interact with them, and even participate enthusiastically in their performances. Their proficiency in non-verbal communication, makes this act interactive and entertaining for young and old alike. For audiences who sit in the first 3 rows, you will be given ponchos as the Blue Man, make use of paint and water to drum their way into your hearts.
At the end of the 90 minutes, we were ready to dance, as giant balls and streamers moved around the hall, in a light and visual extravagenza. Take a brief look in the video below:
