Citroën Grand C4 Picasso Review

Thinking of getting a top family MPV? The Citroën Grand C4 Picasso must be one of the family vehicles that you must check out! Since we sold our Citroën Grand C4 Picasso in 2014, the kids have been bugging us about getting a new MPV. After all, there is nothing more convenient than having a 7 Seater MPV which is a great people carrier and offers convenience and comfort at the same time.

Currently, we drive a sedan as the needs of our family have changed. However, we definitely missed the days when we shuttled from point A to B in a MPV. There is nothing more convenient than having an efficient people carrier, which offers a comfortable ride to the kids, grandparents and friends.  Recently, we were offered a weekend with the Citroën Grand C4 Picasso and we had a great time with this French beauty.

One of the great things about driving a continental saloon or MPV, is that European cars are intuitive and built for drivers. When it comes to the comfort of the driver or passengers, this French belle, will capture the heart of any family. In fact, the moment I set my eyes on this beauty, my head was turning to admire the curves of this 2017 Citroën.

One of the distinctive traits of the Citroën Grand C4 Picasso is the chrome detailing at the front. The chrome Citroën emblem outlines the LED daytime running lights, making the front of the car sophisticated and outstanding from the other Japanese cars in the car park. After all, it’s her looks, safety and comfort, that made us owners of one as well! 😉

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Citroën Grand C4 Picasso, let us give you a brief run-down of the finer points of this family MPV.

Step into the cabin and you will not just notice the futuristic dashboard but the super wide panoramic windscreen. Truly captivating as one gets a bird’s eye view of the journey ahead! Boasting a Euro 6 compliant 1.6L BlueHDi (diesel) engine that comes equipped with a 6-speed full automatic transmission, this Category A vehicle is designed to offer value in terms of fuel consumption (Petrol Variant also available).  Able to record an outstanding fuel economy of 25.6 km/l, this car is an economical drinker, making the trips to the petrol station a rarity.

Our love affair with the Citroën does not start with the adults, but it involves the children as well. Our kids love the Citroën Grand C4 Picasso for the many passenger-friendly features. To beat the Singapore heat, the Citroën MPV comes with air-con blowers at the 2nd-row pillars. Being the main occupants in the back seats, they love this feature, as it ensures that all passengers are kept cool, with the ability to control their preferential fan speed, at their fingertips.

Another feature which caught the kids’ attention was the panoramic sunroof.  At the turn of a dial, passengers will get to enjoy a scenic view of the sky, be it the National Day fireworks display or the festive decorations along Orchard Road in the air-conditioned comfort of the car. We definitely made use of this function, whenever there were Christmas light-ups along Orchard road.

Drivers have a lot to rave about this car as well!  The front row passenger and the driver will enjoy the lumbar massage function. For those long trips or late night drives where one’s limbs are tired, the massage function is able to alleviate tired muscles and offer relief for the drive home.

With a multi-function steering wheel as well as Apple CarPlay™ connectivity, access to key functions is intuitive and easy for the driver.

Thoughtful touches such as the removable central console, which offers walkthrough to the 2nd row, and generous storage compartments throughout the car ensures that families have everything they need within easy reach.

User Experience with the Citroën Grand C4 Picasso

One of the first things that we did when we had the Citroën Grand C4 Picasso for the weekend was to head off to the local DIY store. Driving a sedan means that we can’t purchase big items at IKEA as they just don’t fit into the boot.

With the 2nd and 3rd-row seats being individually adjustable and able to fold flat, we were able to transport long pieces of furniture, without paying for any additional transportation costs. Loading the bulky items was also a piece of cake with the hands-free electronic tailgate! All I had to do was to move my foot under the rear sensor and the boot was open.  A truly useful feature and one of the great practical perks of driving a MPV.

Besides the easy transportation of bulky items, we wanted to maximise family time with the Citroën Grand C4 Picasso. As we have problems transporting our bicycles in our family sedan, we planned a long overdue family trip to Coney Island to test out the full practicality and functionality of the car.

Check out the video below as it shows the fun that we had with the Citroën Grand C4 Picasso. Needless to say, safety was never compromised on our trip. With 6 Airbags and 3-point seatbelts for every single occupant, no child or adult was endangered in the filming of this video! 🙂

From the smile on our faces, one can simply deduce that the Citroën Grand C4 Picasso was just built for long family trips and picnics. The long drive to Punggol was also able to give us an opportunity to fully test out the ride and the whole experience only brought back pleasant memories of our own Citroën Grand C4 Picasso. Driving a Citroën Grand C4 Picasso only makes one want to say J’aime ma Voiture (I love my car).

Don’t take my word for it, but go test drive this French belle for yourself! Click to find out more about the Citroën Grand C4 Picasso
