Every year, Singaporeans face the Haze! Between the months of May to October, winds from Sumatra bring in smoke from the forest fires in Indonesia, and the weather in Singapore becomes impossible for the Singaporeans. Although the local authorities are trying to work things out with their Indonesian counterparts, enforcement is difficult to manage, and the haze situation will remain an annual event for the foreseeable future. As a result Air Purifiers are a common sight in many Singaporean homes. The question is, do we need an Air purifier?

Well, the sad fact is that when the haze comes, it brings with it serious respiratory health issues. These problems are further compounded when you have many young kids or babies in the house. As they are growing, these young ones may find it more difficult to breathe in these hazy conditions. I remember when it was haze season, many of us avoided the outdoors, and tried to minimize our activities by staying at home. However, this is not a great solution, as the air from outside permeates our homes, and fills the whole house. In order for us to bring up the air quality, one can turn to Novita’s PuriClean™ Air Purifier NAP 620.

During the haze, the air we breathe is as “dirty” as it looks. The air will contain particulate matter, carbon monoxide, dirt and other pollutants that affect our health. A sure way to clean to the air in our homes is with Novita. Large particles are trapped by the washable mesh filter while unpleasant odours are absorbed by the granular activated carbon filter. The cool catalyst filter oxidizes and eliminates airborne germs and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Up to 99.97% of airborne allergens and germs are removed by the highly efficient True HEPA filter. Lastly, the semi-permanent built-in ionizer produces more than 40 million negative ions to keep airborne allergens and germs at bay and freshen up your indoor air quality. Enhanced with the new configuration DC Brushless Motor System, this unit has a sturdy and better unit lifespan to maximize cost efficiency.

In case you are wondering, Novita’s PuriClean™ Air Purifier NAP 620 can cover up to an area of  538 sq. or 50 m². This capacity will be more than sufficient for any room in a HDB flat.

Built for the normal consumer in mind, the machine has an “automatic” mode, that when it is operational, the air purifier will minimize operations, when the air quality is excellent. When the air quality deteriorates, it will automatically resume its operation, by automatically selecting the appropriate fan speed setting for optimum air purification.

To help the consumer, there are various light indicators to help understand the operation modes of the machine. For example, upon turning on the machine, we saw a “green light” in the small “cross-like” hole of the module. This indicates the quality of air in the room. “Green” means good, “Blue is excellent, “Purple” is moderate, and “Red” is poor. The Air Purifier will then work in accordance, to the working conditions in the room.

Another helpful feature is the”Filter Replacement” light, which informs consumers when they need to change the filter.
