Navy@Vivo RSS Tenacious (Giveaway)

The Navy@Vivo is one of the hottest events in the family calendar! It is not everyday that someone gets to go on-board a frigate, and with the added bonus of having the kids on the navy ship, you can just imagine everyone’s excitement! The RSS Tenacious, will be docked at the VivoCity Promenade from 23-26 June 2016, and there are tickets open for balloting at the Navy Tickets Website, and we have a Giveaway for our readers as well! 🙂

We have been on previous frigates before such as the RSS Intrepid and the Navy Open House at Brani, and we must say that we have enjoyed every experience. Not only does the family get to go onto the frigate, but we get to go onto the bridge, missile rooms, and come up close with the S-70B naval helicopter. The experience is not just a hit with the boys, but the girls love it as well!

If one visits the frigate at the right time, families can also catch the flag lowering ceremony, which is accompanied by the traditional military ceremony, where Navy personnel will be marching in with their Smart Ceremonial Dress. Definitely something, that you would want your kids to catch! 🙂

What else you can expect at Navy@Vivo

Besides the ship tours, there will also be a shore exhibition within Vivocity Central Court where
there will be exciting exhibits and interactive activities for all ages! (No tickets needed for these activities on land)

Visitors here can try their hands in operating the naval guns in the Littoral Mission Vessel (LMV) simulator, and experience the mock-up 3D display of a submarine, where visitors can walk through it to experience life on board a submarine.

If the family loves “Ah Boys to Men”, one can also relieve their movie memories by meeting the Navy Divers and ASSet Team, and further catch a glimpse of the weapons that are used by our Naval Diving Unit (NDU). They will also witness a performance by the naval divers: Boat Physical Training, one of the training exercises that our divers go through during Hellweek.

navy-group_thumb.jpgOne of the hottest things for each family is the photo booth! Kids have the opportunity to be dressed up in the No.1 Ceremonial Dress, and have their pictures taken with a special Navy Backdrop, as a momento of the experience.

As usual, there will be quite a number of people who want to get on board the ship, and that is why tickets are limited or the experience. One must ballot for the tickets, just like the NDP parade, and the balloting site can be found here.

And Yes! We have a Giveaway for our Readers!
