Swensen’s New Southern Menu

As the kids get older and bigger, eating out can get quite expensive. Although we frequent coffee shops, and food courts, occasionally, we do bring the kids to a restaurant for something different. Swensen’s has got a new menu out and it promises the bold flavors of Southern USA. Delight in some good, ‘ol Southern comfort with these offerings where classic, all-American barbecuing takes center stage. As usual, when it comes to food, the kids are always ready to go! They were terribly excited and could not wait to savor what Daddy and Mummy had ordered for them.

Nathan has a real sweet tooth, and whenever we eat out, I try my best to restrict his diet. However, it was a Saturday night, and we decided to give him some leeway. This is him with Swensen’s Key Lime Soda. I think those eyes speak for themselves, as the soda seemed to hit his sweet spot!

Ok! I could not resist posting this photo! Nathan was in a really hungry mood after his Key Lime Soda, and when his Macaroni and Cheese came, this is what my little boy had to say! The little Sicilian in him came to life! 🙂

The Adults paid homage to the main cast of Swensen’s new Southern Menu by sampling the spicy appetizer of Firecracker Soft Shell Prawns and Swensen’s Cajun Chicken with Creamy Ranch Sauce and Grilled Snapper with Seafood Creole Sauce. 

   

We enjoyed our meal there as the ambience was really family oriented, and we were not the only families there. Swensens also offers a kid’s menu that offers the children a selection of meals which comes complete with desserts.

Overall, the food is the regular Swensen’s standard, but the menu does add variety to the whole setup. The family atmosphere at Swensen’s is great, as it does try its best to look after families. With Baby chairs and a complete kid’s meal at affordable prices, this restaurant is a good alternative for the family who wants a little “extra” compared to eating at a food court. The Swensens at Ion Orchard comes complete with an Ice Cream Buffet, which is also always a hit with the kids! 🙂
